SHEQ – Safety, Health, Environment and Quality
Specialised Technical Services Ltd has embarked on implementing an Integrated Management System to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 International Standards Respectively.
This is intended to place STS Ltd as a leading provider of Engineering Solutions in the East African Region.
The Management of Specialised Technical Services Ltd is committed to maintenance of Health and Safety at work and protection of the Environment in our operations and undertake to provide adequate control of HSE risk arising from our operations in order to prevent accidents.

ERP – Emergency Response Plan
Emergency definition:
An emergency is an unexpected event that poses a threat to life, property or the Environment and requires immediate action to prevent or limit such a threat.
The Emergency Response Procedures set out the minimum procedures that should be undertaken by personnel acting on behalf of Specialised Technical Services (U) Ltd to prevent, eliminate and limit the threat.
All our operations are covered under our public liability insurance policy and staff are covered under the company’s medical insurance policy.
HSEQ – INCIDENT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
The SHEQ Manager, Supervisor, Manager or other designated individual will investigate all work-related accidents in a timely manner.
This includes minor incidents and “near accidents” as well as serious injuries.
An accident is defined as any unexpected occurrence that results in injury to personnel, damage to equipment, facilities, or material, or interruption of normal operations.
Responsibility for Accident Investigation
The Incident and Accident Investigations team/committee (SHEQ Committee) will lead the investigation of all incidents happening during STS Operations and make a report.
The purpose of Accident Investigation
- To prevent or decrease the likelihood of similar accidents
- To identify and correct unsafe work practices and physical hazards. Accidents are often caused by a combination of these two factors.
- To identify training needs. This makes training more effectively by focusing on factors that are most likely to cause accidents.
